CNC Technician, Optical Polishing

Location: Richardson, TX

Duration: 12 months

Pay Rate: 1st shift: $27.74 - 2nd shift: $29.96

Working Hours: 1st Shift 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM; 2nd Shift 2:00 PM - 11:30 PM

Start Date: Immediate

• Manufacture precision optics and optical components.
• Read and interpret optical component drawings/specs including GD&T.
• Interpret interferograms, CMM reports, and other metrology data.
• Independently set up and operate polishing equipment, lathes, fly cutters, and other manual/CNC machines.
• Perform bi-weekly maintenance on polishing machines.
• Use advanced testing equipment such as interferometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineering and technicians.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Job requires standing 80-90%, walking 10-20%, bending 20%, lifting < 15 lbs.

• Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
• Hands‑on mechanical skills: disassembling/reassembling components, diagnosing issues.
• Strong geometry and trigonometry skills.
• Ability to work any shift, including compressed schedules.
• Multi‑tasking skills to run multiple machines in a cell.
• Dexterity to handle delicate optical components.

• Two‑year technical degree preferred.
• Experience with surface quality standards and inspection.
• Machine maintenance experience.
• Optical metrology experience.
