Seeking a highly experienced and hands‑on Technical Support Associate to support our Operations Repair & Maintenance Team within Optics Manufacturing. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring production readiness and uptime across multiple factories, including Optical Fabrication, Diamond Point Turning, Optical Coating, and Assembly/Test.
You will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Operations to proactively address factory equipment needs, implement preventive maintenance, and lead or support equipment upgrades and installations. This is a highly hands‑on, technical position in a fast‑paced, high‑demand defense manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electronic, mechanical, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Lead or support installation and upgrade of new or existing production equipment.
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance procedures (including Lockout/Tagout).
- Use multimeters, current probes, schematics, and technical manuals to diagnose complex issues.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure factory equipment is safe, reliable, and efficient.
- Support layout planning, capital equipment procurement, and documentation updates.
- Participate in call‑in and weekend work as required to support critical operations.
- Follow all OSHA and Raytheon safety protocols.
- Minimum 5‑8 years of hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing/production setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with automated equipment and control systems, high‑voltage systems (480 V, 208 V, 110 V, and DC voltages), multimeters, current probes, and diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to work from schematics, technical drawings, manuals, and verbal instructions.
- Experience interfacing with multi‑disciplinary teams and working with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift after training, with flexibility for weekends/call‑ins.
- Comfortable working in a high‑voltage, hands‑on environment – this is not a desk or technician helper role.
- Associate's Degree in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or related technical field.
