Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of energy management and building automation projects. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing project installations within budget, scope, and timeline. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, organizational skills, and hands-on experience managing both field and office aspects of project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Oversee all phases of assigned projects, from turnover through closeout.
- Manage and delegate work to Assistant Project Managers and field technicians.
- Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring quality and on-time execution.
- Maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Conduct project site walks and attend meetings to track progress and resolve issues.
- Supervise and support technicians; provide on-the-job training when needed.
- Ensure company tools, vehicles, and equipment are maintained properly.
- Monitor performance of assigned team members and provide feedback.
- Maintain project schedules and manpower forecasts.
- Track project budgets, revenue projections, and billing forecasts.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
- Provide accurate reporting to leadership on project status, completion percentages, and financial forecasts.
- Assist clients with system navigation and basic technical support (scheduling, trend analysis, reports, etc.).
- Ensure all project requirements are met for final acceptance and funding.
- Support engineering and sales needs by routing requests through proper internal channels.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in business management or related field preferred.
- Previous construction or technical field experience (technician, project management, or similar).
- Knowledge of energy management or building automation systems preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management software a plus.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional presentation and punctuality are essential.
- Approximately 80% field-based, 20% office-based.
- Active, hands-on role with a balance of project oversight and administrative responsibilities.
