• Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs into viable design solutions.
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
• Successfully integrate Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) products as part of customer‑driven solutions.
• Use proven problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.
• Obtain Security+ certification within 60 days of start.
• Gain experience with Postgres and Mongo
  
  DB.

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of Database Engineering experience.
• Experience with Database Administrator (DBA) duties.
• Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions, such as Oracle.
• Experience working with Systems and Software.
• Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities.
• Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI prior to start date. U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a clearance.

• Postgres and Mongo
  
  DB experience strongly preferred.

• Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases.
• Experience with AWS.

• Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues.
• Experience troubleshooting performance issues.
• Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
• Experience with automating routine tasks.
• Experience with Spatial databases.
• Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful.
