Coding Analyst

The US Oncology Network is looking for a Coding Analyst to join our team at Texas Oncology

Position:
Full‑time, hybrid.
Work Location: 3001

E. President George Bush Hwy Suite 100, Richardson, Texas. Typical work week is Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

As a Level 1 Coding Analyst, you will support the Research Billing Department by performing accurate billing and coding activities. Working under limited supervision, you will assign appropriate billing codes to patient accounts, ensuring claims accuracy and completeness, and report to the Business Office Director. You will also support the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Reviews, verifies and records accurate ICD and CPT codes in accordance with coding and reimbursement guidelines.
• Works with the Manager of Quality Assurance (QA Manager) and charge entry staff to ensure correct charge and/or quantity amounts.
• Runs the Admix Report daily (am) and sends it to sites.
• Runs the Missing Ticket Report weekly and at month‑end, sending it to the QA Manager.
• Forces extraction of Gyn Onc claims following QA Manager approval.
• Codes hospital tickets and ensures all required ticket information is complete and accurate.
• Manages the Billing Specialist Work File, ensuring completeness for 99211 claims, reviewing for missing modifiers on claims, reviewing/forcing out 96521 and 96416 claims, ensuring complete and accurate ordering/MD info on claims, reviewing/correcting duplicate claims and bundled charges.
• Manages the CBO Review work file, ensuring complete and accurate information for assigned visit, referring MD, NDC#s for any NOC drug, and matching ordering MD vs MD1.
• Communicates with site clinical staff as needed to complete any of the above tasks.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Business Office Director.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of AAPC Certified Professional Coder Exam.
• Minimum three years of medical coding experience.
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Prior oncology experience preferred.
• Prior medical billing experience preferred.

Work will involve in‑person interaction with co‑workers, management, and/or clients and may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
