The Senior Corporate Income Tax professional will support the corporate tax department primarily in tax planning and special projects, federal/state/international audit defense work, and federal and state tax compliance projects. This is a non-management role offering strong growth potential within a department primarily composed of senior‑level professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and analyze support for complex planning projects associated with the implementation of the company's tax planning strategies.
- Assist with special tax planning projects related to the quarterly and annual tax provision including data analysis and journal entry preparation.
- Management of responses to tax notices, exam information requests and other correspondence related to state and international tax audits.
- Assist with the preparation of the Country‑by‑Country report and Master File for the federal tax return.
- Work closely with teams across the company to collect and keep up‑to‑date key tax related information.
- Assist in preparing federal and state tax returns and work papers in coordination with tax operations team as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Three to five years previous tax experience, preferably two+ years in public accounting or a large corporate tax department.
- MUST have corporate income tax experience (not sales tax).
- Preference for experience at larger companies rather than smaller companies.
- International tax experience.
- Experience in public accounting.
- Experience with in a large corporate tax department.
- Corporate income tax compliance and planning
- Federal and state tax return preparation
- Strong proficiency in Excel
- CPA or CPA candidate
- Masters in Tax
- Experience with accounting and tax software systems (Hyperion, SAP, Corptax)
- Analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet critical deadlines
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team; flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize assignments, and meet established deadlines
- Learns quickly and implements new procedures and software tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adjust priorities in a rapidly changing environment
