Kroll is seeking a Vice President to join our Sales and Use Tax team. The primary role includes performing taxability studies, research and analysis, preparation of written memoranda, client audit support, use tax reviews, over payment and exposure analysis, and managing large‑scale tax projects. The ideal candidate will have experience selling sales and use tax projects, excellent communication skills, and be detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work effectively as part of a larger team or independently.
Industry experience in oil and gas and renewable energy is a plus.

This position can be remote.
- Manage day‑to‑day aspects of sales and use tax projects
- Collaborate with and coordinate team members to assist with project management
- Train and develop staff
- Oversee documentation retrieval and organization to support sales and use tax audit defense
- Prepare audit submissions, work papers, and memorandums
- Identify potential tax‑saving opportunities
- Identify opportunities for and manage sales and use tax and business license compliance projects
- Conduct data analysis and work‑paper preparation for reverse audit projects to ensure identification and recapture of refund opportunities
- Keep up to date with law changes
- Participate in client and internal tax training
- Review client ASC 450 issues and tax planning on M&A deals
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- CPA or CMI preferred
- 10+ years of experience in tax and/or information technology roles, preferably within a corporate tax environment or a public accounting/consulting firm
- Proficiency with Oracle, SAP ERP, Vertex, and Avalara
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Proficient in Alteryx, Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel
- Ability to draft filings such as refund claims and petitions for redetermination
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Willingness to travel as required
- Demonstrated progression of responsibilities in a combination of tax and/or IT roles
- Understanding of client business and tax systems
- Excellent research and writing capabilities
- Ability to draft and manage various administrative replies
- Strong organizational and detail orientation

Salary Range$70,000 to $130,000
