Long Distance (LD) / Long-Haul / Ultra-Long Haul (ULH) Transport Engineer
Richardson, TX: 1-2 days per week in office required

- Telecom industry experience with long distance/ultra-long haul (ULH) networks
- Expertise in SONET/SDH, OTN mesh, WDM, and ULH transport equipment
- Vendor knowledge:
Ciena, Infinera, Fujitsu - Systems: BGW/Granite, CoFEE(Canvas), Nautilus, ICON, CCP, Venue, 3
GIS/FIMS - Engineering and design of ULH transport
- Process management and results-driven
- Proficiency with Windows programs and corporate databases
- Understanding of engineering specs, drawings, and legacy network OS
- Risk assessment and problem-solving autonomy
- Strong independent and team collaboration skills
- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines
- Engineer, plan, implement, test, and turn up LD ULH transport networks
- Deploy fixed/flex grid and next-gen LD ULH transport
- Monitor network utilization and expansion
- Support site decommissioning and inventory management
- Troubleshoot, handle escalations, and maintain database integrity
- Stay updated on technology evolution
- Bachelor s in a technical field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years telecom experience
