This role requires a proven track record of delivering multiple large-scale projects as the lead superintendent from groundbreaking through completion. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep knowledge of field operations, scheduling, safety, subcontractor coordination, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all field operations on large‑scale critical projects such as ground‑up healthcare, higher education, K‑12, manufacturing and other municipal projects including fire and police stations.
  • Serve as the primary authority on the job site, overseeing all day‑to‑day field activities. Direct and coordinate all subcontractors, suppliers, and field staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality project execution.
  • Develop, update, and maintain the master construction schedule in collaboration with the project management team. Anticipate and resolve potential delays by proactively managing labor, materials, and sequencing to keep the project on schedule.
  • Develop and execute detailed site logistics plans for large, complex projects, laydown areas, material deliveries, traffic control, and worker access. Adjust plans as site conditions and construction phases evolve.
  • Lead daily coordination meetings with subcontractors. Ensure all trades are properly sequenced, resourced, and aligned with project milestones. Resolve field conflicts swiftly and professionally to maintain momentum and minimize disruption.
  • Uphold a zero‑tolerance safety culture. Conduct daily safety walks, enforce OSHA standards, and lead weekly safety meetings. Partner with the safety team to ensure every team member goes home safely each day.
  • Establish and enforce quality control procedures throughout the build. Review work for compliance with project specifications, drawings, and standards. Proactively identify potential deficiencies before they become issues.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with project managers, clients, design teams, and senior leadership. Provide daily reports, schedule updates, and progress photos. Represent the company professionally in all interactions.
  • Identify issues in the field and make informed decisions quickly to keep the project on track. Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve RFIs and field changes efficiently.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to assistant superintendents, field engineers, and other site personnel. Foster a collaborative, high‑performing team culture on‑site.
  • Lead the final phase of construction, ensuring punch lists are completed promptly and project turnover is smooth and professional. Coordinate with commissioning teams, inspectors, and owners to ensure all systems are fully functional and documented.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must have experience in manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, K‑12 commercial projects that are $50 million or bigger as the lead.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Strong safety knowledge and a proven safety record are mandatory.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software.
  • Must be able to interpret and enforce construction documents, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC practices, with a history of minimizing rework and punch list issues.
  • Understanding of building codes and inspections.
