Job SummaryThe Accounts Receivable Adjustments Specialist will process branch requests to reconcile transactions. This accounting support position operates in a fast‑paced centralized accounting services environment that provides financial services to community associations throughout North America. Candidates must meet Associa's credit requirements.
Duties- Work with branch and customer service to resolve and correct missing/misapplied payments.
- Review and explain account activity.
- Identify account discrepancies.
- Process adjustments to owner accounts as approved by the Community Association Manager.
- Receive notices from bank and enter adjustments related to NSF, Stop Payment, and Closed accounts.
- Enter reimbursable charges as necessary.
- Enter balance forward for new accounts.
- Generate appropriate communications to homeowners following activity completion.
- Manage high‑volume workflow.
- Process refunds.
- Correct misapplied payments.
- Waive and charge fees.
- Upload Excel files.
- Communicate via email.
- Set up ACH data.
- Knowledge of assessing credit on receivables.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures (U.S. GAAP).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 0–3 years of directly related or closely related experience.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Proficient knowledge of conflict resolution techniques.
- Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.).
- Self‑motivated, proactive, detail‑oriented, and a team player.
- Time management and time‑critical prioritization skills.
