Angelus Block Company, Inc. is California’s leading producer of concrete masonry units, interlocking concrete pavers, decorative site wall units, and segmental planter wall units. We are seeking to direct hire a full-time Industrial Maintenance Technician with electrical experience.

Job Description:

Maintains production and quality by ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and mechanical support equipment.

Primary responsibilities include preventive maintenance on production equipment (Pneumatic, Hydraulic, Mechanical and Electrical) per manufacturer specifications, electrical maintenance, inspecting transformers and circuit breakers, troubleshooting electrical issues, and adhering to the National Electrical Code and local regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Ensures operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production equipment including pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems per manufacturer specifications.
  • Locates sources of problems by listening to operators, observing equipment operation, and using a step-by-step problem solving approach.
  • Perform general electrical maintenance; inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components; troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices; repair and replace equipment, wiring, or fixtures.
  • Follow National Electrical Code, state and local building regulations; conduct circuit breaker corrective maintenance.
  • Disassemble/assemble devices to remove defective parts; measure dimensions with tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other basic tools.
  • Adjust functional parts and control instruments; maintain inventory and communicate with the Plant Superintendent about parts and supplies.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness by complying with procedures and using PPE; follow Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures when working on equipment.
  • Work on multiple pieces of equipment per priority set by the Plant Superintendent; document actions and communicate needs across shifts.
Other Duties
  • Collaborate in a team environment and be able to cut, torch, weld, and fabricate with steel when needed.
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet production demands; plan work effectively and maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Other duties as assigned related to the job.
Skills & Experience
  • Familiar with automation equipment: pneumatics, cylinders, sensors, relays, and computers.
  • Operation monitoring: observe equipment performance via gauges and indicators.
  • Troubleshooting: identify causes of downtime or poor performance and plan fixes.
  • Equipment installation and maintenance: install and maintain support equipment, basic wiring, lubrication, and related systems.
Required Experience
  • 5 years of job experience required; electrician experience 5 years.
Education

High School diploma, GED or Trade School Training.

Minimum

Physical Requirements

Must have the physical stamina to perform continuous work including climbing, reaching, pushing and lifting. See below for detailed job-related activities.

  • Communication

    Skills:

    English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Physical tasks: occasional and frequent actions including lifting up to 20 lbs and carrying, with occasional heavier lifting as needed.
