We are searching for a motivated and engaging individual to join us in delivering an exciting programme of employability support. This role will provide one-to-one employability support to individuals to help them overcome their barriers to employment with the goal of moving into employment. The ideal candidate will be empathetic and proactive with a creative and innovative approach to engagement and employability support with excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Support a caseload of participants, managing recruitment, retention, training and development of those aged 16 and over using a variety of techniques, including collaborative conversation, individual coaching and personal support.
- Build positive relationships and develop effective processes to identify and overcome barriers as a pathway to employment.
- Create momentum for participant change using collaborative communication skills to communicate acceptance and empathy whilst focusing on the most central and important issues and dilemmas, providing the right support at the right time.
- Identify barriers to employment and develop comprehensive strengths-based plans with participants, undertake further assessment and regular reviews, and identify any risks, completing risk assessments and risk management plans as appropriate.
- Provide advice, guidance, support and direction to Employment & Skills Case Workers to ensure their workload is manageable and that agreed support for participants is implemented according to the action plan, and reviewed by the mentor as necessary.
- Support individuals to address broad barriers to work by providing information, advice and guidance regarding support available, including access to training, education, development opportunities and employment.
- Identify alternative employment options for participants who require additional support to progress and provide case studies to promote the impact of the programme.
- Provide a holistic, enabling, collaborative and strong partnership approach, working closely with other organisations within the community to maximise the number of participants securing and sustaining employment.
- Work closely with the Employment Engagement Team and other members of Working Denbighshire when necessary to ensure participants moving into sustained employment are provided with help and advice as required by the employer.
- Ensure evidence is collected to demonstrate achievement of outcomes and to fulfil monitoring requirements, and ensure case studies are completed.
- Follow prescribed filing and data accuracy to ensure the confidentiality of participant information is effectively protected and handled within locally agreed Information Sharing protocols.
- Identify any operational risks aligned to Working Denbighshire’s safe system of work and complete risk assessments and risk management plans and report to your line manager as appropriate.
- Participate with colleagues as part of the wider Working Denbighshire team to take collective responsibility for representing and promoting Working Denbighshire and achieving its targets and ambitions.
