Workshop Technician

Role

The Workshop Technician supports teaching staff and learners in a practical workshop environment. The role involves demonstrating techniques, instructing students and supervising safety procedures. The position is ideal for someone with previous experience in a technician role or a skilled labourer/tradesperson looking to apply industry knowledge in an educational setting.

• Implement health and safety measures within the workshop, ensuring full compliance.
• Prepare and maintain equipment, tools and materials for lessons and demonstrations.
• Set up rigs and training areas under the guidance of lecturers.
• Assist with practical assessments, student observations and technical demonstrations.
• Manage stock levels, place orders and maintain accurate inventories.
• Collaborate with other technicians to ensure all facilities remain in excellent condition.

Rhyl Campus, Rhyl.

£22,751 – £23,185 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience.

• 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years' continuous service.
• All normally observed public holidays.
• Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum.
• Part‑time contracts receive a pro‑rata entitlement to the above.
• Term‑time contracts receive a pro‑rata entitlement as part of the annual salary.
• Working pattern: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (During the College Term).
