Driver – Cylinder Handler

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. Driver – Cylinder Handlers are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a local route delivery vehicle to deliver hard goods, compressed gas cylinders and associated products to customer locations. In this role, you must communicate and cooperate with customers, respond to their needs, and safely operate the delivery vehicle in compliance with company and DOT guidelines.

You will also be responsible for filling, labeling & preparing low pressure packaged gas cylinders and will operate and maintain the cryogenic liquid filling system. The Driver – Cylinder Handler role at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is physically demanding and requires attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.

Hourly Rate: $22.91 - $33.61 per hour, depending on experience.

1st Shift, CDL A/B

• Provide a high standard of customer service while delivering, including unloading of products and movement to customer use point and reloading the returned empty cylinders to the vehicle.
• Driving represents approximately 30% of the day; the remaining portion includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle inspections (AM and PM).
• Accurately count and record quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up.
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping papers in accordance with DOT/TC regulations.
• Placard the vehicle according to required hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Identify the need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure it is completed on time.
• Process medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures.
• Perform visual, physical and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determine whether retesting or repairs are required.
• Check cylinder quantities, styles and product, and fill as necessary.
• Load and unload product from weekly shuttle truck.
• Operate and maintain cylinder scales and related equipment.
• Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment and enter quantities, styles and products into the computer to justify stock inventory.
• Complete and maintain quality control documentation as per company and governmental procedures.
• Operate a forklift and other plant vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Degree/G.E.D. is required
• 2 years driving experience or have completed a truck driver training course for equipment similar to Linde's
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions or other moving violations in the past 2 years
• No alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years
• Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical
• Valid Class A or B CDL is required
• Current Hazmat endorsement on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire
• 2+ years of experience in a plant or manufacturing environment preferred
• Read and write in English
• 21 years or older
