Overview

SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director, the BCBA independently provides school-based functional behavioral analytic services (assessment, treatment, and consultation) for students attending the Bradley Schools. BCBAs may also provide supervision of graduate-level trainees. Responsibilities
  • Apply the organization s values of respect, honesty, and fairness and pursue excellence in improving health status and service quality.
  • Participate actively in the behavioral assessment of Bradley School students; review medical, developmental, family histories, clinical diagnoses, and treatment protocols; provide quality behavioral analytic services; develop individualized behavior plans in consultation with the treatment team.
  • Develop and implement skills acquisition, social skills, and positive behavior support plans in consultation with the treatment team.
  • Provide leadership and role modeling to multidisciplinary staff; serve as treatment team leader for Bradley School classrooms when appropriate.
  • Review student records prior to admission, oversee plans for assessment, treatment, and education, and coordinate communications with team members and external professionals (e.g., IEP/PPT meetings, behavioral reviews).
  • Facilitate weekly team meetings and other meetings with parents, school district personnel, or community professionals; produce timely reports and documentation; communicate effectively with school personnel and providers.
  • Consult with school nurses, psychiatrists, and outside medical providers as needed; work with school psychologists to clarify assessment needs and recommendations.
  • Maintain proactive communication with the Clinical Director regarding clinical and administrative issues; demonstrate leadership, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills to sustain effective teams.
  • Deliver high-quality services for students admitted to the school program or referred for outpatient consultation; provide case management, individualized behavioral treatment, and outpatient consultation as assigned; complete required reports and records timely; provide in-service education; supervise graduate-level trainees as assigned.
  • Adhere to school policies, attend in-service programs, maintain crisis de-escalation and intervention certification, complete continuing education to maintain BCBA certification and license, and comply with infection control, risk management, safety standards.
  • Maintain punctuality and appropriate use of sick time and school time off; understand the school organizational chart and communicate through that structure; participate in training seminars and committees as requested; perform other related duties as required.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to assigned teams, coordinate student/staff needs with school management, and lead weekly treatment team meetings and other school meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from an accredited school; BCBA board certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
  • Licensure by the RI Department of Health as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (required in RI).
  • Experience in a clinical and/or school setting; experience with students with autism preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills to provide care to school-aged youth with consideration of developmental, cultural, familial, and individual factors affecting functioning and progress.
  • One to two years of specialized clinical experience with children and adolescents preferred.
