Job DescriptionThe Chariho Regional School District is currently seeking applicants for a long-term substitute Science teacher at Chariho High School. Position will run from January 26 through the remainder of the school year.

Chariho Regional High School is a comprehensive 9-12 high school which includes a career and technical facility. The total enrollment is 1,249 students, of which 434 are enrolled in the career and technical center. The campus is located in the rural village of Wood River Junction, in the Town of Richmond, approximately 40 miles south of Providence. The school district is comprised of the three towns of Hopkinton, Richmond, and Charlestown and includes the Narragansett Native American community.
Geographically, Chariho is the largest school district in the state, encompassing 126 square miles. There are four elementary schools, a middle school, a high school, and a career and technical center, which includes tuition-paying students attending from the neighboring communities of Narragansett, Westerly, South Kingstown, and Block Island. Adult education is provided in the Chariho community primarily through two programs: vocational training for adults and general interest vocational courses.
Adult Basic Education (ABE) and General Education Diploma (GED) services are provided via regional arrangements with the Adult Learning Center located in Wakefield, RI. Other nearby cultural and educational opportunities include: several local libraries, extension courses offered by regional colleges and universities, drama, choral, art organizations, and other programs.

- Current RIDE certification:
Secondary Grades General Science Teacher, Grades 6-12 and/or Secondary Grades Biology Teacher, Grades 6-12 - Bachelor degree preferred.

Chariho Regional School District actively seeks applications from the most capable, professional candidates. If hired, the following items must be submitted in person:
- Copy of Rhode Island Teaching Certificate if certified by RIDE
- If applicable, a copy of test scores for the NTE or Praxis

- Federal BCI (Done through your local police department or State Attorney General's Office)

- a passport or permanent resident card or BOTH
- a driver's license and social security card
- a driver's license and birth certificate
