What’s the Job?

Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the flow of materials, products, and shipments in and out of Air Pro. This involves unloading trucks, inspecting goods for damage or defects, verifying part numbers and/or serial numbers, performing required quality inspections, and ensuring that all deliveries are processed efficiently and on time.

Responsible for setting up shipments with freight vendors while coordinating with other departments and customers to ensure the customers’ expectations are met or exceeded. Accountable for maintaining accurate records, ensuring that all materials are labeled in accordance with company procedures, and establishing clear and precise communication.

Position Requirements
  • Capacity to work on multiple priorities, with frequent interruptions, in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment
  • Solid organizational, problem solving, and communication skills needed
  • Must be dependable, and proficient at working independently without constant supervision
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks are crucial to this role
  • Strong attention to detail, with a willingness to always follow procedures
  • Some computer skills are necessary
  • Ability to operate forklift, hand and power tools, and other equipment safely
  • Requires a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
Physical Demands

Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and pushing or pulling 75 lbs. independently. Able to climb in and out of forklifts frequently and move products with an overhead crane. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, sit, and reach. Noise level is low in office spaces and moderate to high in production areas;

hearing protection is required in production areas. While the majority of the work is indoors, temperatures will range from hot to cold, as a portion of this job is done outdoors. This job will also require longer periods of desk work.

Job Duties & Skills
  • Plan and execute the daily shipping requirements of all completed products
  • Monitor the shipping dashboard and work with the order managers on any issues/irregularities
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations by following their shipping requirements for each job
  • Monitor freight costs, and recommend changes to improve effectiveness and/or profitability
  • Purchase skids and other shipping materials as necessary to ensure timely shipping operations
  • Observe shipping holds and communicate to internal and external personnel as appropriate
  • Unload trucks and inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy
  • Make certain all quality inspections are completed and recorded as required
  • Communicate with and maintain a working relationship with delivery drivers, to facilitate safety and keep things moving
  • Coordinate with other departments, to resolve discrepancies with deliveries or shipments
  • Initiate, track, and resolve freight claims for both incoming and outgoing freight damage
  • Use ERP software to create work lists, record receipt of material, and process finished products
  • Label, organize, and store materials in designated areas
  • Regularly assist purchasing with inventory audits and help optimize storage space
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, to promote a safe an efficient working environment
  • Read and follow all applicable company ISO Procedures
  • Assemble jobs kits for fan assemblies, and close work step by due date
  • Ensure all materials, and products are handled and stored in a way that minimizes damage
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and tools according to standard operating procedure, safety regulations, and best practices
  • Package and facilitate the transportation of materials between plants as necessary

    Perform routine maintenance on primary equipment
  • Wear approved safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection in designated areas
  • Follow established procedures to package outgoing products, and load trucks
  • Complete all job duties in a safe manner and confirm all safety guidelines are being met
