Job DescriptionDeputy Clerk of Court – Civil/Small Claims in the Clerk of Circuit Courts Office. Oneida County is accepting applications to fill a Deputy Clerk of Court – Civil/Small Claims position.
ResponsibilitiesSUMMARY OF
JOB DUTIES:
This position performs a variety of routine accounting, clerical and administrative duties in keeping official court records, and providing support to the Circuit Court Branches. Upon successful completion of training and education, this employee will have specialized knowledge related to civil proceedings, including small claims, and an understanding of the Wisconsin Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Qualified candidates must have a high school degree or equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, accounting and bookkeeping or one year post high school education in those areas or one year work experience in a law, accounting, or business office setting.
The ideal candidate will have good computer skills with experience in Microsoft office systems and knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, terminology, and equipment. Candidate should also have the ability to maintain accurate and complete records, ability to apply and research Wisconsin statutes and knowledge of court practices. Working effectively with others (including the public), maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to multi-task and cope in stressful situations are a must.
Wagesand Benefits
Starting 2026 hourly rate of $23.57 to $24.24 plus excellent benefit package, including Wisconsin Retirement System benefits, affordable health, dental and vision insurance and a PTO (Paid Time Off) package with the ability to carry unused PTO into future years.
Work HoursPosition works 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with half-hour unpaid lunch.
