Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and ultimately guest loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the check lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.

  • Communicating and interacting with guests to build a welcoming guest experience
  • Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve guest concerns

  • Promoting and engaging around various benefits, offerings and services

As a Guest Advocate, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • Engage with guests to assist with their specific needs
  • Inform guests of current promos, store activities and events
  • Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues
  • Thank guests and express appreciation for shopping at Target
  • Know and discuss Target Loyalty programs and assist with sign-up as needed
  • Scan and bag items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with safety standards
  • Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • Explain and demonstrate features of the Target App (including Wallet)
  • Know how to direct guests to Order Pick-Up, Drive Up and online ordering, and assist enrollment
  • Handle returns following procedures and escalate to Leaders as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with stocking during store hours
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Work safely and report hazards; follow safety policies and training
  • Support guest services such as order pick up, Drive-Up orders, and related duties while complying with applicable laws
  • All other duties based on business needs

  • Accurate checkout operations and support for cash office activities as needed
  • Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 44 pounds occasionally
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; reliable attendance
  • Mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions, including during Drive-Up or carryout tasks
