Responsibilities

The primary goal is to satisfy customer requirements of quality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for all activities required to support production processes, including but not limited to:

  • Monitoring and maintaining inventory
  • Preparing work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (kitting)
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies
  • Records purchases, maintains database, performs physical counts, and reconciles stock counts to computer-generated reports
  • Receives, unpacks, delivers goods; re-stocks items; labels shelves
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
  • Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
  • Supports all departments with inventory needs
  • Follows all plant safety guidelines and maintains a clean and safe work area
  • Properly uses personal protective equipment when required
  • Maintains regular attendance; reliable transportation
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
Qualifications

Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training related to the listed skills is desirable.

  • Blueprint reading knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)
  • Basic computer knowledge
Skills

(primarily Microsoft Excel)

  • SAP experience desirable
  • Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug test
  • Team player; ability to work with others and/or alone
  • Maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed production goals
  • Attention to detail; watch for material defects and quality issues
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting
  • Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including weekends and/or holidays
Work Environment
  • Typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts; bright workspace with LED lighting
  • Clean environment with occasional grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration
  • Housekeeping performed throughout the day; noise level is typical for manufacturing with air tools and grinders; yearly audiometric testing provided
  • Non-climate-controlled facility; fans provided in summer, heating in winter
Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent; entry-level experience (training may be provided)

Steel toe shoes/boots
