Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Planning & Brand Management
- Develop, plan, and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with organisational objectives, covering corporate brand, products, and services.
- Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand strategy across all channels and touch points.
- Continually review market conditions, customer behaviour, and competitor activity, adjusting the marketing strategy as required.
- Identify new business and market opportunities to support growth initiatives.
- Plan, deliver, and optimise marketing campaigns across digital, social, and paid channels.
- Manage and refine the organisation’s social media presence, including organic and paid activity.
- Execute online paid promotion through social media platforms and Google Ads.
- Create, commission, and manage high-quality content, including written content, video, and visual assets.
- Coordinate video production activities for marketing, promotional, and thought leadership purposes.
- Report on campaign effectiveness using data-driven insights and analytics.
- Create and manage a marketing calendar, including any conferences, exhibitions, and thought leadership contributions.
- Coordinate business and product award submissions and participation.
- Coordinate the distribution of press releases across appropriate channels, including email, media platforms, and social media.
- Negotiate with media agencies and suppliers to secure promotional services and materials.
- Provide marketing tools, collateral, and materials to enable the sales team to operate effectively.
- Identify, develop, and manage brand and commercial partnerships to extend reach and customer engagement.
- Manage and maintain the company CRM system (e.g. Hub Spot), ensuring data accuracy and effective utilisation.
- Utilise internal databases and external data sources to inform targeting and campaign strategy.
- Conduct market research studies to support product development, positioning, and go-to-market planning.
- Create, manage, and continually improve the company website, including structure, content, and performance.
- Design and produce marketing collateral, product packaging and printed marketing materials as required.
Knowledge
- Marketing strategy development and execution, ideally within technology, defence, aerospace, or security-related sectors.
- Digital marketing channels, including social media, paid advertising, SEO, and email marketing.
- Brand development and brand governance principles.
- Marketing analytics, KPIs, and performance measurement.
- CRM systems and marketing automation platforms.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Practical working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, for the creation of marketing and promotional assets.
- Understanding of design principles for digital, print, video, and social media formats.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copywriting.
- Data analysis skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable marketing decisions.
- Stakeholder management, including internal teams and external suppliers.
- Negotiation skills with media agencies and service providers.
- Commercially minded.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Adaptable and responsive to changing market conditions.
- Detail-oriented while maintaining a strategic perspective.
- Collaborative and supportive of cross-functional teams, particularly sales.
- Proven experience in a marketing role.
- Demonstrable experience managing digital marketing channels and content creation.
- Experience with video production and multimedia content.
- Demonstrable experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (Including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro) to support marketing, branding and campaign activity.
- Experience using Canva as part of a wider marketing toolkit.
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g. Hub Spot or similar).
- Strong understanding of marketing performance measurement and reporting.
- Ability to manage suppliers, agencies, and external partners.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Must be based locally to the Drone Defence office in Retford, or within a commutable distance.
- Experience in the defence, security, aerospace, drone, or advanced technology sectors.
- Experience managing or contributing to thought leadership initiatives.
- Knowledge of website CMS platforms and basic UX principles.
- Experience coordinating awards submissions and PR activity.
