As an Instructional Systems Design Specialist supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Joint Counterintelligence Training Academy (JCITA) with Amentum, you directly contribute to strengthening the Department of Defense’s counterintelligence mission by designing, developing, and enhancing high-quality, mission-focused training programs. By collaborating with subject matter experts, mission stakeholders, and leadership, you will help ensure curriculum accuracy, relevance, and alignment with DIA and DoD strategic priorities.
You will integrate innovative instructional technologies, scenario-based learning, and performance assessments to enhance learner engagement and operational readiness. Your contributions will improve training effectiveness, standardization, and delivery efficiency across the counterintelligence enterprise—ultimately supporting force protection, safeguarding sensitive information, and advancing the national defense mission.
Flexible, typically 40 hours a week, 80 hours total for each two-week pay-period. Monday-Friday.
Essential ResponsibilitiesThrough the application of the ADDIE methodology and adult learning principles, translate complex counterintelligence doctrine, operational requirements, and emerging threat information into engaging, measurable, and standards-aligned instructional products. Work ensures that counterintelligence professionals are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking capabilities required to identify, deter, and neutralize threats to national security.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)- Applies ISD knowledge and experience to develop in‑classroom instructional materials and methods including, but not limited to training plans, storyboards, narrative scripts, graphics, tests and evaluation methods, and scenarios.
- Assists with identifying and creating instructional material to address field‑driven performance shortfalls and client training needs.
- Is knowledgeable of and adheres to standards set by the Council on Occupational Education as well as DoD instructional systems design methodology.
- Supports course documentation including, but not limited to the course design document, instructor/facilitator and student guides, course syllabus, practical exercises, assessments, and related materials.
