As a Storage Administrator, you’ll work as part of the Storage and Data Protection team in support of a federal healthcare enterprise environment, including medical and scientific research and administration. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and coordinating the use and proper operation of the storage and backup environments, ensuring the client’s critical science and research is stored, backed up, and protected.
Because much of the data being stored is generated by scientific equipment, you will spend time in a customer-facing role supporting their devices.
- Excellent customer service support skills and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings - working in a data center is required
- Strong working knowledge of Service Now ticket handling
- Ability to walk, stand, and remain on feet for extended periods - bend/lift and carry magnetic tape containers weighing over 20 lbs
- Working knowledge of workstation operating systems such as Windows, Macintosh and Linux
- Able to obtain and maintain an OMB Public Trust clearance
- Experience working and interfacing with medical and scientific research professionals
- Experience maintaining critical scientific, medical and research data
- Understanding and ability to follow industry-proven methodologies including ITIL
- A+ Certification, Storage + Certification
