Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Lead the overall technical implementation for NOAA projects.
- Ensure system scalability, interoperability, and compliance with security standards, incorporating Dev Sec Ops best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Lead cloud migration efforts, applying Agile methodologies to guide the transition of mission-critical systems to cloud environments effectively and efficiently.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline configurations to automate provisioning and deployment processes for NOAA systems.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including NOAA leadership and multiple technical teams, to ensure smooth deployment, integration, and operational readiness.
- Develop technical documentation, establish standards, and consistently evaluate advancements for improving cloud-native infrastructure.
- Extensive experience leading technical implementation for large-scale IT projects, particularly in cloud migration and Dev Sec Ops environments.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and tools for infrastructure as code, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Git Lab CI).
- Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies and hands‑on experience applying Scrum or SAFe frameworks in federal IT projects.
- Expertise in system architecture design ensuring high scalability reliability, and security compliance.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity policies, including FISMA and NIST frameworks. Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional coordination and stakeholder management.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Dev Ops Engineer, or similar.
- Prior experience working with NOAA or other federal agencies on IT modernization and mission‑critical system deployments.
- Knowledge of AI/ML integration in cloud‑based environments and experience with low‑code/no‑code platforms.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Understanding of budget and resource management for technical program execution.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or physical science
