CGI has an immediate need for a Senior Python & GenAI Engineer - 4888 to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python & GenAI Engineer to design, build, and support scalable AI-driven applications in a cloud-native environment. This role combines advanced Python development, generative AI model implementation, and AWS cloud engineering. You will play a key role in developing and deploying AI-powered solutions, integrating large language models (LLMs), and supporting production systems in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, data science, and business teams. This position also includes L3 production support responsibilities, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of AI and cloud-based systems.

• 7+ years of overall software development experience
• 5+ years of experience working with AWS and AI/ML technologies
• Strong hands‑on experience with Python and modern frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django
• Proven experience building and deploying generative AI or machine learning solutions
• Familiarity with frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, and Hugging Face
• Experience working with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI models, custom transformers, Stable Diffusion, etc.)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs and system integrations
• Experience deploying and managing solutions in AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, IAM, Cloud Formation, Sage Maker, EMR, Redshift)
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience troubleshooting complex production issues and performing root cause analysis
• Ability to optimize performance, scalability, and cost within AWS environments
• Comfortable working in Agile environments (stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, well‑documented code
• Preferred: AWS certifications (i.e., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer) AI/ML or cloud‑related certifications (i.e., AWS Certified Machine Learning)

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
