Meta is looking for a talented, highly motivated engineer to join the Edge and Network Services team. This team is responsible for processes and systems for deploying and supporting one of the world’s largest, most complex, and robust networks. Automation is key to meeting our demands; you will be responsible for executing our vision for integrating detection, triaging, and directed repair into our pipeline for networks supporting AI/ML applications.

Responsibilities- Automation and integration into existing pipelines, alerting, triage, and repair for IP, Ethernet, and non‑Ethernet networks
- Improve efficiency through automation and process improvements
- Collaborate with internal and cross‑functional partner teams to define and automate optimal workflows for network deployment and repair
- Proactively find gaps that impact multiple teams/organizations, develop execution plans, and drive projects while influencing other teams to reach outcomes
- Develop automated methods to detect, mitigate, and remediate network events
- Work with partner teams, understand their challenges, help them find a native solution or lead efforts with cross‑functional teams to deliver systems/platforms/tools
- Help recruit and onboard new members to the team, mentoring them and ensuring a quick ramp‑up within our environment
- Perform detailed troubleshooting and engage with cross‑functional teams to fix system/tooling issues
- Drive requirements with cross‑functional teams to align our internal tooling efforts
- Identify problems slowing the team down and drive changes to address them
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience automating in the networking domain on large‑scale networks
- Knowledge and experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with REST APIs
- Knowledge of Linux OS and networking
- Experience with network devices (routers, switches, load balancers)
- Experience working within a global team in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with limited supervision
- MS or graduate work in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience developing and operating distributed systems at scale
- Knowledge of technology‑agnostic engineering approaches
- Experience in C, C++, Go, or Rust
