• Contract, 12 Months (Likely Extension)
• This position is primarily remote. For candidates based in the DMV, candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Reston, VA once per week. For candidates based in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Florida, or Texas, candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Reston, VA once or twice per month.
• The selected candidate must be comfortable working onsite in Reston, VA for PI Planning every six-to-eight weeks.

• Join a leading healthcare payer as a Principal Solution Architect within the Member Services Portfolio. You will bridge the gap between enterprise strategy and application development, designing high-level conceptual models for portals, claims, and enrollment systems while ensuring cloud-readiness and top-tier security for sensitive member data.

• Translate business requirements into high-level conceptual designs and structures.
• Provide architectural guidance that aligns with Enterprise Architecture (EA) standards and principles.
• Present and "sell" solution visions via elevator pitches to VPs and General Managers.
• Ensure all solutions are designed for seamless migration from on-premise to AWS cloud.
• Define integration choices, patterns, and enterprise standards for application architects.
• Implement specialized security protocols for PHI, PII, and VIP member data.

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect (higher level than a Senior Tech Lead/App Architect).
• Strong background in the Healthcare Payer industry (Claims, Enrollment, Benefits processing).
• Technical proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and Database platforms (DB2/Postgres).
• Experience with AWS native services and cloud migration strategies.
• Expertise in API and Web Services development and integration patterns.
• Proficiency in Agile/SAFe methodologies.
• Must reside in an approved state and be able to travel for in-person meetings as required.

• Exposure to AI/ML concepts and their application in member-facing solutions.
• Experience with IBM IAM (Identity and Access Management) platforms.
• Prior experience presenting technical roadmaps to C-level or VP-level executives.
