We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable, secure, and reliable cloud-based applications. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional passionate about cloud technology, automation, and continuous improvement to play a pivotal role in supporting our mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
Deploy, monitor, and maintain robust cloud environments on AWS across development, staging, and production. Ensure high availability and optimize performance and cost-efficiency. - Automation & CI/CD:
Develop and maintain reusable pipeline templates, jobs, and stages for continuous integration and delivery, promoting automation and process consistency across teams. - Application Deployment & Containerization:
Collaborate with development teams to containerize applications using ECS, EKS, and Lambda functions; oversee deployment processes to ensure stability and scalability. - Monitoring & Incident Response:
Set up comprehensive monitoring dashboards, thresholds, and custom Cloud Watch metrics; proactively identify issues and respond swiftly to outages or performance degradations. - Security & Compliance:
Maintain cloud environments in accordance with security standards, conduct patch assessments, and implement best practices for data protection and compliance. - Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
Design and test regional failover strategies, create detailed recovery runbooks, and ensure adherence to RTO and RPO objectives. - Scripting & Automation:
Develop custom scripts utilizing Python, Bash, YAML/JSON to automate routine tasks, implement alerting mechanisms, and enhance system reliability. - Documentation & Change Management:
Maintain detailed infrastructure documentation, change records, and participate actively in Agile planning and review sessions. - Support & On-Call Responsibilities:
Participate in 24/7 rotation to support production environments, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root cause analysis.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in cloud support, infrastructure, or IT operations
- Proven expertise with AWS services, especially Lambda, ECS, EKS, Cloud Watch
- Strong scripting abilities with Python and Bash for automation tasks
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Cloud Formation
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD platforms like Git Hub, Git Lab, Kubernetes
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Dev Ops Engineer or Solutions Architect Associate
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in cloud environments
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Docker, Kubernetes
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and incident management frameworks
Publishing Pay Range: $55.00 – $60.00 USD Hourly
