Aderas is seeking a Project Manager to support government programs requiring strong expertise in IT security tools and the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process. The ideal candidate will manage technical and security-focused projects in a regulated federal environment, ensuring systems meet compliance, security, schedule, and performance requirements.

Job Duties
  • Manage end-to-end technical project execution for government systems with a focus on cybersecurity and compliance.
  • Coordinate activities across the A&A lifecycle, including initial authorizations, reauthorizations, and continuous monitoring.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between government stakeholders, system owners, security teams, and technical staff.
  • Plan and track project schedules, deliverables, risks, and dependencies in alignment with contract requirements.
  • Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of A&A documentation, including SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and control evidence.
  • Coordinate implementation and validation of security controls in accordance with NIST RMF and agency‑specific policies.
  • Facilitate technical reviews, security meetings, and authorization briefings with government representatives.
  • Monitor compliance milestones and ensure timely resolution of security findings and POA&M items.
  • Provide regular status updates, metrics, and risk assessments to program and government leadership.
  • Support audits, assessments, and inspections conducted by government or third‑party assessors.
Required Education & Work Experience
  • Master's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience OR a bachelor’s degree with nine (9) years of experience.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Demonstrated experience supporting federal government programs or government contractors.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process and NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Hands‑on familiarity with IT security tools such as vulnerability scanners, SIEM solutions, endpoint protection, and IAM tools.
  • Experience developing and managing A&A artifacts, including SSPs, SARs, POA&Ms, and supporting evidence.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls and federal cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams in a matrixed, regulated environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience interfacing with government clients.
  • Proficiency with project management tools.
Certification(s)
  • CISM or CISSP preferred
  • PMP certification
