Expert DevOps Engineer

Expert Dev Ops Engineer – Platform Engineering, Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations, SAP, Reston, VA. Hybrid role, 3 days in office.

As part of the Platform Engineering team, you will build, harden, and operate the internal SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as references by the regional Operations teams. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, architects, and operations on the Gardener infrastructure and BTP product suite.

• Maintain and evolve CI/CD pipeline using cloud services and automation tools; provision resources with Terraform.
• Write code in Python, Go, and Bash to support platform evolution.
• Design and orchestrate cloud solutions on Azure, AWS, and GCP, integrating best practices.
• Implement cloud security measures to protect customer data.
• Align infrastructure initiatives with SAP’s broader strategic goals.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions.
• Continuously improve processes by adopting industry best practices.

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience as a Dev Ops Engineer or related role.
• Expert proficiency with Git, Terraform, Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation.
• Deep expertise with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and networking, monitoring, and scalability.
• Experience leading and optimizing CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem‑solving, communication, and scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Knowledge of cloud security protocols and best practices.
