SAP recently decided to combine and harmonize all SAP Sovereign Cloud offerings, establishing an end‑to‑end process for the Public Sector and regulated industries. The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Customer Services and Delivery with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP. Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations is collaborating closely with all Board areas to establish a harmonized, scalable, and consistent offering with transparent and standardized deliverables.

We are seeking an experienced Platform (Cloud) Architect to design, implement, and manage scalable and secure cloud solutions. The Cloud Architect will be responsible for developing cloud strategies, ensuring best practices in architecture, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to drive cloud adoption. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing principles, architecture frameworks, and experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid environments.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in software architecture and engineering
• Advanced knowledge of cloud technologies and architecture patterns
• Ability to balance technical and strategic requirements and take a technical approach to design specifications of our large‑scale network
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Dev Ops practices
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Experience in large‑scale software development and deployment
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks

• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering teams, and other architects
• Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures.
• Develop and maintain cloud strategy, governance, and best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders to assess business requirements and define cloud solutions.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with security, regulatory, and operational standards.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Work closely with development and Dev Ops teams to support and define requirements.
• Establish monitoring, logging, and incident response strategies for cloud services.
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams on cloud architecture principles.
• Document architecture and engineering designs, standards, and procedures.
