Senior DevOps Engineer

Overview

Senior Dev Ops Engineer role  are looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer (f/m/d) within the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations team, focusing on the Sovereign Cloud deployment of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

You will join the Multi-Tenant Engineering team. Responsibilities include building, automating, and hardening the internal SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by regional Operations teams. You will develop the automation deployment that delivers SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to SAP Sovereign Cloud customers, aiming for functional completeness, streamlined deployments, and smooth operation. You will work closely with technical product managers, engineers, and architects focusing on the SAC application.

You will solve scale and security challenges unique to SAP Sovereign Cloud and become the subject matter expert for the Sovereign Cloud SAC environment setup. You will engage with regional Operations, Security, QA, and other Sovereign Cloud Engineering teams, driving end-to-end deployment of product capabilities from concept definition through functional/technical assessments, hardening, and automated customer deployments.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a similar field
• Professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies
• In-depth knowledge of hyperscalers (AWS preferred)
• Strong Terraform implementation experience
• Experience deploying and managing Cloud-native applications:
• Container Orchestration tools e.g. Gardener (preferred), Kubernetes, Docker
• Helm charts
• Repository management e.g. Artifactory (preferred), JFrog (preferred)
• Service management tools e.g. Consul (preferred), Zookeeper
• Experience with deployment automation and tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef)
• CI/CD pipelines (e.g. ArgoCD, Git Lab CI/CD, Jenkins)
• Monitoring and logging (e.g. Dynatrace, Cloud Watch; Splunk, Elasticsearch, Logstash)
• Cloud Networking tools (e.g. AWS VPCs, VNet, Google VPC)
• API Management tools (Apigee preferred)
• Familiarity with Git Lab and/or Git Hub
• Scripting background (Power Shell, Python preferred)
• Security best practices including hardened containers and images (STIG)
• Experience with security tools (e.g. Hashi Corp Vault, Git Hub Secrets)
• Database knowledge (e.g. SAP HANA)
• Experience with SAC or BTP system environment setup is a big plus
• Familiarity with Cloud Foundry is a plus
• Prior exposure to Open Stack deployment or CLI tools is a plus
• Strong analytical thinking and cross-functional collaboration
• Fluency in written and spoken English

• 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies
• 2+ years of experience in cloud operations – developing, delivering and maintaining Cloud Products
• Development experience in at least one programming language
• Professional experience in software engineering roles
