• Lead traffic engineering and transportation planning projects focused on intersections, freeways, and arterial corridors.
• Conduct traffic operations and safety studies using tools such as Synchro, VISSIM, and HCM/HSM methodologies.
• Develop traffic control devices, traffic signal design, signing and pavement marking design, plans, specifications, and estimates for traffic designs incorporating traffic engineering requirements into roadway plans.
• Prepare plans using design software such as CADD, Open Roads Designer, and Micro Station.
• Prepare and present high‑quality technical reports to clients in virtual and in‑person settings.
• Apply a multimodal lens to every project—accounting for pedestrians, cyclists, transit users, and drivers across diverse environments.

• Knowledge of traffic engineering, transportation planning, and operations analysis.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling and simulation tools.
• Strong communication skills for client engagement and project presentations.
• Excellent writing skills.
• Ability to thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• EIT certification.
• Experience in traffic engineering and analysis, preferably 4–6 years.
• Hands‑on experience with Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, Sidra, or similar tools.
• Proven ability to lead on‑call tasks and collaborate with VDOT and other clients.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• PTOE certification.
