Bechtel is the licensing, engineering, procurement, and construction partner on Terra Power’s Natrium team, a DOE‑backed initiative to build a state‑of‑the‑art sodium fast reactor. The Natrium plant is designed to provide more than 500 MWe of combined power and renewable energy storage.

Essential duties include locating and designing supports for various piping systems and performing associated calculations. The position is designated as part-time telework and requires at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in‑person schedules will be determined in consultation with the supervisor.

• Perform modeling and pipe support calculations using GTStrudl.
• Familiarity with common pipe support hardware, industry standards, and relevant codes such as AISC & ASME B31.3/B31.1.
• Check/review isometrics using span tables.
• Work closely with layout personnel and pipe stress engineers to deliver a quality and cost‑effective design.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and vendors as required.
• Review designs performed by other engineers.
• Previous experience in a 3‑D model environment and placement of pipe supports.
• Potential for lead activities.

• AA/AS or Certificate in Engineering/CAD with 7‑8 years of experience, or 9‑12 years of relevant work experience.

• Must complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment and education.
• Knowledge of AISC structural code, ASME B31.3, B31.1, and other relevant industry piping codes and standards.
• Prior experience using a computer frame analysis program (GTStrudl preferred).
