Position Overview

RIVA Solutions is seeking an energetic, strategic, and highly personable Culture & Events Associate to lead and elevate employee engagement initiatives across the organization.

This is not an administrative role. This position requires someone who is outgoing, business-minded, organized, and capable of driving enterprise-wide engagement initiatives with vision and intention. The selected candidate will help boost morale, foster connection, and ensure that RIVA’s programs and events are executed with excellence and measurable impact.

The Culture & Events Associate will work cross-functionally with executive leadership, People & Culture, and Marketing & Communications to manage mentorship programs, employee initiatives (RIVANext, RIVA Engage, RIVA Karma, Women in Leadership), Slack engagement strategies, team-building events, and enterprise culture programming.

Core Responsibilities Employee Engagement & Culture Programming
  • Lead planning and execution of internal employee engagement events and team-building initiatives (in-person and hybrid).
  • Coordinate and manage enterprise programs including:
    • RIVANext
    • RIVA Engage
    • RIVA Karma
    • RIVA Ambassador Program
    • Mentorship Programs
    • Women in Leadership initiatives
  • Serve as a visible culture ambassador across the organization.
  • Bring energy, positivity, and cohesion to employee-facing experiences.
Events & Program Coordination
  • Own logistics, scheduling, communications, and execution of corporate events including:
    • Staying Connected sessions
    • Holiday celebrations
    • Happy hours and IRL team events
    • Networking and industry gatherings
  • Develop event themes, engagement strategies, and post-event feedback processes.
  • Track participation metrics and identify engagement improvement opportunities.
  • Support coordination of corporate offsites and leadership events.
Slack & Internal Engagement Strategy
  • Act as Slack Community Engagement Lead.
  • Drive ongoing digital engagement campaigns across the RIVA ecosystem.
  • Develop creative engagement strategies to increase participation and connectivity.
  • Promote cross-functional awareness and internal collaboration initiatives.
Leadership & Program Support
  • Facilitate discussions, round tables, and mentorship programming sessions.
  • Support executive leadership with structured program coordination.
  • Provide reporting insights on engagement performance and program outcomes.
  • Identify innovative approaches to strengthen culture as RIVA scales.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in events, marketing, communications, engagement programming, or similar roles.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly personable, outgoing, and comfortable leading conversations and group discussions.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strategic mindset with ability to connect engagement efforts to business outcomes.
  • Experience planning or supporting events at scale.
  • Must be local to the DMV area and able to be onsite in Reston, VA as needed.
