Sales associates provide excellent customer service by listening to customers, helping identify their needs, and offering accurate information and product recommendations.

• Greet customers warmly and inquire about their needs with open-ended questions.
• Practice excellent customer service and listen attentively.
• Guide customers to appropriate products.
• Share product knowledge and technical assistance related to the products sold.
• Handle sales counter functions like order entry, special orders, and price lookups.
• Respond politely to telephone inquiries.
• Merchandise products according to planograms.
• Recommend new products based on customer feedback.
• Process sales and special orders accurately using POS systems.
• Assist in inventory cycle counting and stock shelves.
• Maintain a clean and organized sales area.
• Notify customers about new products and promotions.
• Help customers load purchased items.
• Report pricing issues or product discrepancies using company resources.

• Understand and follow store security and safety protocols.
• Observe and report suspicious activity.

Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Previous retail or customer service experience preferred. Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills required. Knowledge of hardware or building materials is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
