Job Title and Compensation

Job Title: Retail Assistant Manager

Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000

Location: Renton

Position Overview

The Store Assistant Manager supports the retail, production, and material handling teams. Working with the store manager and supervisors, this role provides leadership to ensure team member satisfaction and achievement of financial goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand operational metrics and implement plans to achieve goals.
  • Discuss business operations and results knowledgeably.
  • Maximize sales through stock rotation, merchandising, signage, and inventory management.
  • Ensure a continuous product flow and excellent customer assortment.
  • Deliver excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Develop strong relationships across the enterprise and partner effectively.
  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with Goodwill policies and procedures across various departments.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    Supervises staff according to company policies and laws, including hiring, training, performance monitoring, and addressing employee issues. Collaborates with People Relations as needed.

    Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • At least 3 years of retail leadership experience.
    • Minimum 2 years leading a sales team in a retail or service setting.
    • Experience in a customer-centric, solutions-oriented environment.
    • Ability to engage with customers and understand their needs.
    • Knowledge of budget metrics and P&L management for at least 1 year.
    Additional Requirements
    • Valid Washington Driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a good driving record.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
    • Physical ability to lift 20-30 pounds, stand for long periods, and operate computer systems.
    • Effective communication skills, including with those with limited English proficiency.
    • Reliable attendance and flexibility to work nights and weekends.
