Assistant Nurse Manager
JOB OVERVIEW:
Under general direction by the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) utilizes the nursing process to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, and provide safe, therapeutic allocation of nursing resources to patients/families. The ANM makes independent judgments, decisions, and acts regarding a wide range of routine and complex staffing and unit workflow issues. The ANM collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care.

- Licensed to practice registered nursing in the state of WA, required.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Minimum three years of professional nursing experience, including demonstrated skill and preference for adult education (preceptor, charge nurse, unit-based skills, etc.).
- Proficient in EPIC.
- Nursing certification eligible.
- TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer certification preferred.
- Capable of comprehending, executing, and acting within scope of practice.
- Able to communicate effectively in oral and written form in the English Language.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills in a diverse population.
- Proven ability to set priorities, produce accurate work, and deliver quality patient care consistent with the organization standards.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a collaborative manner.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Demonstrates leadership skills with the ability to lead and manage a team, utilize clinical judgment, clinical inquiry, and systems thinking.
- Motivated and able to problem solve complex situations.

Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients. Manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination required. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds in emergency situations. Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to communicate effectively in oral and written fashion.
Requires working under changing conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids and other conditions common to the clinical environment.
Essential responsibilities and competencies are exercised under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The ANM provides leadership for unit and departmental activities that promote:
Delivery of quality nursing care; a culture of service excellence; effective problem solving and communication; fiscal responsibility and accountability for unit performance.
