Valley Medical Center – Clinic Network – Renton, WA – Full Time (Days shift) – FTE: 1 – Category:
Professional – Salary Range: $78,425 - $117,637/annual, DOE.
Provide psychotherapy services for adult patients with a variety of mental health conditions. Services are conducted both in person and via telehealth visits.
Prerequisites- Washington State Licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Behavioral Science, or a relevant field.
- Post‑graduate experience conducting mental health assessments and providing direct therapy to adolescents, adults, older adults, and/or couples.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with an interdisciplinary team and in a medical model setting.
- Ability to work independently and utilize clinic supervision.
- Expertise in providing therapy to a diverse population (age, gender, diagnosis).
- Computer skills needed.
- Knowledge of a variety of therapeutic modalities.
- Previous psychotherapy experience working with patients 18 years old and older.
- Knowledge and ability to manage a suicidal patient.
- Knowledge about community resources related to mental health and ability to make appropriate referrals.
- Makes independent decisions about the course of therapy, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and use of therapeutic techniques or modalities.
- Meets productivity expectations of 90% direct patient care.
- Maintains awareness of patient fiscal relationships with the clinic.
- Documents in EPIC including chart notes, telephone encounters, in-basket messages, and other relevant information.
- Closes patient encounters within 24 hours of seeing the patient.
- Makes internal referrals to prescribing clinicians as appropriate.
- Completes assignments such as chart closures, patient letters, and requests for information in a timely manner.
- Maintains DOH-required CEUs for licensure.
- Works collaboratively with physicians providing medication management for individual caseload.
- Informs Medical Director and Clinic Manager of potential or actual problems in a timely manner.
- Participates in round‑table discussion groups with other therapists and prescribing clinicians at least twice a month.
- Stays up to date on new or revised clinic policies.
- Works effectively with non‑clinical staff (PSRs, Clinic Supervisor, Intake Specialists).
- Reviews EPIC schedule to ensure patients have appointment slots available and communicates desired changes, concerns, or needs to staff as appropriate.
- Possesses knowledge about HIPAA, patient confidentiality, and mandatory reporting.
- Completes training modules as assigned and/or required.
- Other duties as assigned.
This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Valley Medical Center and will be narrowed during the interview process based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
