A flexible opportunity for education professionals to provide essential classroom support within school settings, this per diem role allows you to work as-needed based on school coverage demands.
Position OverviewInstructional Aides in these roles provide one-on-one and small group assistance to students, supporting their academic, behavioral, and social development. Responsibilities include helping with daily routines and transitions, implementing behavior support plans, assisting with mobility and supervision, and fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classrooms
- Provide 1:1 or small group assistance as directed by teachers and school staff
- Aid students with daily activities, transitions, and class participation
- Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assist with mobility, supervision, and personal care support
- Maintain classroom safety and promote respectful, inclusive environments
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum age of 18 years
- TB test completed per school district requirements
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
- Current clearances or willingness to obtain before starting
- Background in school settings, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- CPI, PMT, or RBT certifications are advantageous but not required
- Reliable, patient, and collaborative approach
