TITLE:

Ambulatory Education & Training Specialist JOB OVERVIEW:
The Ambulatory Education & Training Specialist, in collaboration with and under of department leadership will provide educational and training services to the Ambulatory Front Office and PRC roles. The specialist will assist leadership with developing and overseeing new employee orientation and onboarding, education programs. Responsibilities include monitoring staff performance and establishing ongoing training for the implementation of new workflows, guidelines, policies and procedures.

The specialist will provide valuable feedback to clinic leadership on observations of quality, performance, and compliance with policies and procedures while identifying areas that require further training and education. DEPARTMENT:

Manager Ambulatory Education and Training PREREQUISITES:
Ambulatory Education & Training Specialist I
* Associate's degree in education, Adult Learning and/or Instructional Design or another closely related field required. Two (2) years relevant experience may substitute degree requirement.
* Two (2) years' experience teaching adults, preferably in a healthcare setting preferred. Ambulatory Education & Training Specialist II
* Bachelor's degree in education, Adult Learning and/or Instructional Design or another closely related field required. Four (4) years relevant experience may substitute degree requirement.
* Two (2) years' experience teaching adults, preferably in a healthcare setting required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* Knowledge of adult learning principles, ability to design and develop curriculum, and ability to use the change process appropriately; ability to educate and adapt to various learning styles while using various teaching methodologies.
* Understands the importance of using the implementation process for training Clinic Network initiatives, e.g., CPG's, Patient Safety, Quality, National Patient Safety Goals.
* Project management, curriculum and/or workflow development and implementation, as well as LEAN experience preferred.
* Proficient with Microsoft tools
* Able to handle multiple demands and competing priorities.
* Ability to collaborate and work in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Training Role - To provide learning opportunities and to facilitate the adult learning process.
* Responsible for onboarding and orientation of new front office employees (Patient Service Reps, Patient Resource Reps, Patient Access Associates), including the use of systems (i.e., Epic) needed to perform in their role and setting.
* Assesses learning needs to assist in developing/delivering/implementing training, education, and targeted support to staff as applicable.
* Provide for the evaluation of the appropriateness and effectiveness of training resources and facilities as a component of educational activities.
