Senior Tax Accountant (Public Accounting) — Seattle Metro | Full Benefits | Hybrid/Remote Flex

Compensation: $115,000–$145,000 base salary (DOE) + annual bonus potential

We’re seeking a Senior Tax Accountant who thrives in a client‑facing environment and can lead complex engagements from planning through delivery. You’ll collaborate with a close‑knit team, mentor junior staff, and work directly with small‑to‑mid‑market business owners and high‑net‑worth individuals across diverse industries.
What You’ll DoPrepare and review complex federal and multi‑state returns: S‑Corp, C‑Corp, Partnerships, Trusts, Estates, and Individual.
Lead tax planning and research for entity structuring, elections, and equity compensation; identify opportunities to minimize tax liability and manage exposure.
Own client relationships—scope engagements, set timelines, communicate status, and deliver results on deadline.
Guide staff with technical review notes; contribute to workflow/process improvements to drive accuracy and efficiency.
Manage ASC 740 (provision) support and technical memos when applicable; handle state & local (SALT) nexus and apportionment matters.
Support IRS/state notices, audit response, and compliance remediation.
Maintain current knowledge of tax law changes and best practices; participate in CPE and internal training.
What You’ll Bring5–8+ years of progressive public accounting experience (tax focus).
CPA required (or CPA‑eligible with near‑term plan).
Comfort with busy seasons; ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced, client‑service environment.
Proficiency with tax research tools and modern tax software; advanced Excel skills.
Strong written and verbal communication; can translate complex rules into clear client guidance.
A team‑first mindset with a willingness to mentor and raise the bar for quality.
Nice to HaveExperience with closely held businesses, family offices, and high‑net‑worth individual planning.
Familiarity with international tax, partnership waterfalls, stock‑based comp, and trusts/estates.
Exposure to R&D credits, cost segregation, or specialty incentives.
