Driver - Route RENO

About this Position

Route Driver – responsible for operating transit buses safely and on time while serving the public and upholding ADA compliance. Pay Rate: $26.73 per hour.

• Ensure safe on‑road operations while maintaining on‑time performance.
• Familiarity with assigned routing and detours.
• Awareness of ADA policies and procedures; understand ADA compliance.
• Proper operation of all wheelchair lifts for each bus model.
• Collect prescribed fares and notify dispatch of any refusal to pay or fare violation.
• Provide information to passengers; welcome and help passengers.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, especially in case of service disruptions.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and enter all defects into the ZONAR system.
• Follow exact deadhead routing and assigned revenue service routes.
• Depart the start of each route exactly on‑time and never operate ahead of schedule.
• Report any bus bunching or other problems that may disrupt scheduled service.
• Report immediately to dispatch any vehicular accident or passenger incident and follow the incident and accident reporting procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• MUST be at least 21 years old.
• MUST have a NV Class A or B CDL with Passenger and Air Brakes endorsements or CDL Permit.
• MUST be able to pass a pre‑employment drug test.
• MUST have a clean driving record – DMV printout required for the last 10 years.
• MUST have a stable work history.
