We’re looking for a reliable Maintenance Technician, responsible for maintaining the building, machines and other mechanical equipment at our Reno, NV distribution center. This individual is responsible for performing routine, preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently and the physical condition of buildings is maintained.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, align and balance new equipment.
  • Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment, including wiring, welding, fabrication and minor carpentry. Replace filters and complete checklists, as needed.
  • Clean and lubricate machine parts, including shafts, bearings and gears.
  • Inspect and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunction, referencing blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs.
  • Inspect parts for wear, possibly dismantling devices to access the defective part. Determine changes in dimensional requirements, reporting defects and malfunctions of any kind to the maintenance manager.
  • Align and balance equipment after repair of existing equipment.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance activities and service cycle records.
  • Perform specialized and general maintenance: assembling, installing, and repairing wiring, electrical and electronic components; plumbing and pipe fitting; painting; as well as overall building maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot electrical problems ranging from 5

    VDC to 480

    VAC.
  • Provide grounds-keeping services, such as landscaping and snow removal.
  • Perform general cleaning of building and property.
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules (OSHA) while working.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Based upon the nature of the work, overtime is required, as is maintenance work on Saturdays and/or Sundays, for at least four weekends per year.
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school equivalent with 5 years of experience in a maintenance-related field, with a Journeyman’s Certificate in electrical, plumbing or carpentry, Electrical Safety Hazard Training Certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to identify technical defects in electrical units and other equipment in a facility.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, hoists, jacks, etc. Ability to set up and operate machine tools and jigs.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring and testing instruments, including rules, calipers, micrometers, electrical testing devices and other instruments for measurement.
  • Familiarity using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts and order pickers. Ability to operate a floor scrubber.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Adequate written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills; meets deadlines and coordinates work tasks with co- workers.
  • Position requires safety training including:
    Electrical NFPA 70E, Hot work, FM Global Red Tag System, and LOTO
