Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant and adding charge.
- Install piping systems including drain piping, p-traps, water lines, gas lines, valves and actuators.
- Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors.
- Perform start up, testing and commissioning on RTUs, Air Handlers, VAVs, Fan Coil units, swamp coolers and other commercial HVAC equipment.
- Test lines, components, and connections for leaks; braze and solder parts as necessary to repair defective joints.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.
- 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification.
- Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics.
- Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring.
- Strong oral and written communication required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
- Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
- Ability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.
