Commercial HVAC Journeyman Service Technician

Overview

We are a full-service HVAC, building automation, chiller, and retrofit contractor with a reputation for combining high-quality consulting services with customized energy solutions. Our integrated, single-source solutions include turnkey in-house capabilities with design assistance, as well as engineering applications and automated control systems.

• Install new HVAC units, brazing, line sets, trimming refrigerant and adding charge.
• Install piping systems including drain piping, p-traps, water lines, gas lines, valves and actuators.
• Install coils, compressors, condensers, fans, motors, combustion equipment, and industrial air compressors.
• Perform start up, testing and commissioning on RTUs, Air Handlers, VAVs, Fan Coil units, swamp coolers and other commercial HVAC equipment.
• Test lines, components, and connections for leaks; braze and solder parts as necessary to repair defective joints.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment such as vacuuming, cleaning, changing filters, and oiling parts.

• 5 years of experience in maintaining similar type and size commercial equipment, along with a current Universal CFC certification.
• Experience with ladders, roofs, and attics.
• Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Understanding of basic electrical circuits, disconnects, electric valves, low and high voltage wiring.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with minimal supervision in isolated areas.
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment, and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to stand, sit, or squat for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and work at extended heights.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.
