NV Energy invites qualified candidates to apply for the Lineman, Electric position.

7330 LINEMAN, ELECTRIC. A Journeyman who performs all classes of overhead and underground transmission and distribution line work, construction, erection, and maintenance of substations when assigned to a crew under the direction of a Working Foreman or Supervisor. Qualified to test, maintain, and install duct lines, cable, conduits

Particle, risers, company‑owned customer outdoor lighting equipment, circuit breakers, transformers, substation equipment, and associated circuits. Must be qualified to perform switching and will make connections to underground circuits, substation feeder installations, and customer services.

• Framing poles.
• Preassembling material.
• Patrolling and inspecting pole and tower lines.
• Testing and inspecting poles.
• Repairing risers and ground mouldings.
• Pulling slack in anchor guys.
• Replacing guy guards.
• Splicing and terminating non‑lead and leaded underground cables.
• Installing and splicing fiber‑optic cable and communications.

• See Letter of Understanding dated July 13, 1967, as amended by Supplementary Agreement dated May 10, 1973.
• Taking primary distribution voltage readings.
• Installing company‑owned customer outdoor lighting service equipment and street fixtures, including connections on circuits with voltage below 750 V.
• Installing all types of customer services, complete with setting self‑contained meters.

• Setting and replacing service polesshwa.
• Setting street‑light poles and outdoor lighting service poles not to exceed 40 ft.
• Washing insulators on lines energized up to 60 kV.

When it is necessary to climb through live circuits of 750 V or more, the other employee in the two‑man unit must be a Journeyman Lineman. The Lineman is required to drive the line truck and operate the fixed and attached equipment and may be required to keep time cards and material records.

This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under Title 49 CFR Part 382 and Part 40. Any applicant/employee who is licensed to operate a commercial vehicle for the company will be subject to drug and alcohol testing under the company’s FMCSA testing programs. Employment, transfer, or promotion offers for this position are contingent upon taking and passing a drug test prior to commencing the new role.
