Position

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician in Reno. This full-time role involves electrical and mechanical inspection and startup maintenance on the equipment we sell. An ideal candidate is customer-service oriented, collaborative, and able to communicate effectively with Project Managers, Service Coordinators, and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Complete startup and proper documentation of new units
  • Perform preventive maintenance including belt adjustments, oiling, greasing, and cleaning of equipment
  • Use experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements
  • Interpret engineering drawings related to layout, location, and operation of the system(s)
  • Represent the company positively to other trades, contractors, and owners
  • Advise owners/representatives of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken
  • Suggest additional services beneficial to customers
  • Work in a team-based environment to share information and workload while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Submit required paperwork to Service Coordinator in a timely manner
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety measures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
The Required Profile
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Current HVAC certification and OSHA 10 Training; 1-5 years’ experience as a Service Helper or Service Technician in residential or commercial settings
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office; working proficiency with handheld devices (smartphone, iPad)
  • Electrical knowledge required; EPA Certification preferred (e.g., HVAC Journeyman, Boiler Operator, Gas Installer)
  • Ability to work in diverse conditions, including mechanical equipment rooms, extreme weather, high voltage, and at elevated heights
  • Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds frequently
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and balance multiple duties
Other Skills & Abilities

Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to present information to customers, clients, and other employees.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to perform basic arithmetic, rates, ratios, percentages, and to interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to follow written and oral instructions, solve problems, and prioritize multiple tasks with sound judgment.

Will be required to work in a field environment at multiple customer sites daily.

Physical Demands

The job requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and lifting. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 75 pounds. Vision and manual dexterity requirements apply.
