Raymond West is looking for a dynamic Parts Specialist to join our team! The Parts Specialist is responsible for taking calls from external customers, technicians, and working with vendors on over‑the‑counter parts sales. This position requires a strong sense of urgency in responding to customer needs while maintaining inventory, costs, and quality control.
Responsibilities- Accept telephone, email, and counter orders from external customers and company technicians, and fill orders from stock.
- Research replacement parts using parts manual, computer listings or microfiche as appropriate.
- Discuss use and features of various parts and advise customers on substitutes when part is unavailable.
- Fill customer orders from stock or by special order and order parts for stock replenishment.
- Prepare sales orders for invoicing, receive payment, and obtain credit authorization when necessary.
- Participate in general inventories and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain accurate inventory and sales records through proper documentation.
- Support other Parts Sales Specialists in the sale of material handling equipment.
- Handle telephone calls, customer counters, and promote overall sales.
- Assist Parts Sales Representatives with order entry, consignment replenishment, and consignment maintenance.
- Distribute and explain company service and parts bulletins to parts staff.
- Assist at back counter and stockroom as directed, including tire press operations.
- Actively participate in Parts Department training and meetings.
- Perform various duties directly or indirectly associated with parts sales activity as assigned.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and similar software.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Effective communication with customers, employees, and manufacturers.
- Ability to work off‑hours as required and assume additional responsibilities.
- Maintain a professional appearance and organized work area.
- Ability to learn new computer programs, inventory procedures, parts manuals, and price books.
- Drive and initiative to work under minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of machine parts and their functions.
- Compliance with employee handbook and company policies.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Two years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
- Non-sedentary position requiring frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Required vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes, chemicals, extreme temperatures, vibration, and noise.
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
- Use of hands and arms for reaching and handling.
- Potential exposure to smell.
- Must pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
The hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00. Specific pay may be influenced by experience, education, and location.
