Busperson -Bistro Napa; Swing

Overview

The Bistro Napa Fine Dining Bus Person will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, including assisting Food servers with drinks and clearing empty tables. Assists in the set-up, breakdown and maintenance of all dining areas. Ensures the dining room is fully supplied with appropriate and clean utensils, china, glassware, water and ice.

Swing

• Stock and maintain bus/dish cart station. Ensure necessary supplies, silverware, dishes, and paper products are available. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bus station areas.
• Perform assigned opening duties to ensure a clean and well-organized station with proper supply levels. Ensure the dining room is in guest-ready condition.
• Maintain thorough housekeeping practices of the assigned station before, during and after the shift, including floors, walls, chairs and tables.
• Remove unused settings, clear dirty dishes, provide water, coffee, ice tea and soda refills as requested. Pre-bus (remove excess dishes) from tables throughout the shift.
• Approach tables promptly with a warm greeting. Assist the Food Servers with guest service.
• Greet and seat guests when a host/hostess is not present.
• As guests depart, clear and reset tables as quickly as possible. Remove all dishes and glassware from tables after guests have left. Clean table surfaces and ensure proper sanitation. Set tables in the proper order according to company expectations.
• Use a tray/bus tub at all times to clear tables and deliver beverages.
• Transport dishes from the restaurant bus station area to the dishwashing area. Sort and separate silverware, dishes, and glassware according to established guidelines.
• Empty and clean all restaurant trash cans as needed. Routinely check trash cans for discarded tableware and kitchen utensils. Retrieve and clean as necessary.
• Be familiar and proficient with menus and general restaurant operating policies to answer guests’ questions.

• Ability to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must be guest-oriented.
• Must adhere to all appearance standards, including but not limited to no visible tattoos/piercings or unnatural hair colors.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
