The Steakhouse Captain will be responsible for creating the overall guest experience, taking food and beverage orders, carrying out wine/beverage service, performing table maintenance, completing side work, maintaining health code standards, and providing excellent customer service for our guests according to Atlantis' standards.
The incumbent in this position, as with all members of the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa Team, is expected to conduct themselves in a manner that demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality. This position supports the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa’s vision, mission, and values, and performs all functions in a way that inspires and motivates others.
Responsibilities- Oversee end-of-the-night close down and side work. Assist team members in wine and food service.
- Ensure proper communication between front and back of the house for timely food delivery.
- Maintain positive guest relations to deliver a positive dining experience.
- Manage time effectively to ensure food is prepared and served promptly.
- Handle products properly to reduce expenses.
- Increase revenue through suggestive up-sell.
- Work with the Maitre D’ to oversee the proper sequence of service.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the service area.
- Perform other duties as required and assigned.
While performing duties, employees may need to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus.
Qualifications- Knowledge of restaurant and bar operations, including food, beverage, supervision, service techniques, and guest service.
- Previous experience in a food environment, front or back of house.
- Strong time management skills.
- Wine knowledge to assist guests.
- Tableside cooking experience.
- Knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation.
- Friendly and outgoing personality.
- Ability to multitask in a high-volume, high-stress environment while exceeding guest expectations.
- Maintain a professional demeanor.
